It was cool to come across this post. I have a KV-1215 that just worked when I got it a couple years ago, it was also made in '77. I wonder if the cabinet color is the difference in model numbers, mine is wood, otherwise they look identical to me. I think the crt in mine still decent, it makes a pretty good picture.

I'm pretty sure the designs between the KV-1204 and the KV-1215 would be quite different.
