It's weird where I live. Some sets will sit for $10 on marketplace with no bites. At the same time, I saw someone trying to sell a 1979 15" Trinitron set for $450. The exact TV I saw for free not a day earlier (and just missed out on).
Thrift stores stopped taking CRTs around 2014, but it looks like some have started accepting them again. |

The 2 best thrift stores here do occasionally still have a 20" or less which is good to see. Speaking of $450. A local CL ad has a kv32fs100 Sony for $450. It does look very clean and he let's it be known it was barely used-taxation accordingly :saywhat:. However, these days you never know if someone has to have it.

The last place we could sell CRT sets was people with camps.
Nobody in there right mind would try to steal one of those early MGA 35" sets. Dorm sets were another place we could sell them. Was better to sell them cheap than pay to junk them. 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |

TRYING This TV has been sitting on Vancouver Craigslist since 2013 - 14. Originally they were asking $400 for it. Then in summer 2019 after seeing it on there for years at such a ridiculous price I sent the seller an email stating that they had a "Exceedingly rare" TV and that they should be asking at least $650 - 700 for it. They even sent me a very kind email thanking me for the advice and that they were unaware of it's full value and rarity and have since raised the price. This screenshot was taken today and it's still available..... https://i.postimg.cc/Rh7gpfhs/Screen...1-12-55-55.png |
When his phone dont ring he will know its me !
Its a pretty set. Fairly common at the time & a good runner. Its one of Admirals best last gasp sets. There last few years saw some nice efforts. Without the $2 fix of the cord I would go $5 & if I saw a great raster maybe $20 just for nostalga... 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! Quote:

You're right about this being Admirals last gasp. This was pretty much the end of the line for their B&W portables and one of their first solid state offerings in this size. Quote:
Bet they're wondering why the phone isn't ringing off the hook. |
