Another thing :)

One of my TV buddies in PA needs the top center panel for an RCA 8T241 if anyone has one.....

Electronic M 04-14-2015 02:35 PM

I have one, but I want to see if the CRT is good (in which case I'd do a resto) before I think of parting it.

I got it cheap though so money could sway me...

A couple hundred should hold me over for a couple lifetimes.

It's not for me, but it's for someone that's done me a few very good turns. Gotta help out our TV brethren, y'know? :)

Shoot me a PM and name your price :).

Kamakiri 04-15-2015 07:25 AM

Have another picture tube if anyone needs. RCA Silverama 21YP4B, excellent emissions. $25....by PayPal in advance just because I don't wanna end up carrying the sucker home ;)

rodmonster 04-16-2015 01:55 PM

40s to 80s

I will also be at the ETF this year.
Currently interested in things from the 70s and 80s.. including VCR and Betamax...
Preferably working if possible.
Anyone looking to sell, trade, or give away - let me know.

captainmoody 04-17-2015 09:27 AM

Is there anyone going from the Detroit area to the convention, that might have room for a set?

Oops! Never mind.. The buyer backed out..

zenithfan1 04-18-2015 08:59 PM

Is anyone bringing any portable tube color sets? Like late 60s Panasonic's or Zenith or anything similar?

zenithfan1 04-19-2015 12:58 AM

Also, would anyone be interested in a sansui 1000a unrestored but in decent shape? Also have a 69 Pioneer that looks mint with original paperwork but right channel is out. Just seeing if there's any interest if not I wont dig em out.

Electronic M 04-19-2015 12:35 PM

I won't be at the ETF, but if the price is right on that Sansui, or you want to trade for sutf I don't mind letting go we could make a deal.

Kamakiri 04-19-2015 06:39 PM

I'd be interested in buying a 7" Admiral with a wood case if anyone has one.

C'mon guys, offer some stuff up on here....I've got a bunch of cash that I'm afraid will go unspent :D

Kamakiri 04-20-2015 09:49 AM

The auction page has been updated. There is now a WORKING RESTORED CT-100 up for auction!!!

A couple more things in the Ed Reitan auction too, there's now a model 5 color set going to be available.

I think that's a mistake. I believe the chassis is restored, but the CRT is full of air.

Kamakiri 04-20-2015 03:43 PM

Seems to have been corrected now....

Dave A 04-20-2015 07:11 PM

That is my CT-100. Listing corrected to restored chassis...by two of us...and the bulb is bad. It needs a better home. Auction item. And I will include a RCA matchbook from the dealer I got it from. The set was never sold and was a demo in his shop for 50 years in SE PA in a tiny town when I got it. Just as dead then as now. The shop had seen a flood or two and I had to refinish a front piece on the bottom.

I will edit/add to this post with others I am bringing to auction as they fit in the van. An unsold RCA BW 21" blonde metal table top for starters. A Zenith 25" color. A few 40's/50's 10" and some 70's/80's BW little SS portables to come.

rodmonster 04-21-2015 09:13 AM

Looking for Radios

3 Attachment(s)
Hey folks I am looking to pick up a couple of suitcase / lunchbox radios too. Older models that open for maintenance from the back. Rounded edges.
Preferably working or at least easily restorable.
Ones that look like these in shape and age.

I will be at ETF if anyone has some they need to let go.

Kamakiri 04-22-2015 05:56 AM

Getting close!

I'll be getting in on Thursday afternoon (coming from Buffalo), along with BigAudioAl, rodmonster, (coming in from DC/VA) and philtar0079 (coming in from Western NY near the PA border). We plan on just hanging out at the hotel and in town till Friday. We're staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Dublin. Is anyone else getting in early and want to hang out, visit, maybe have a couple drinks or coffee?

Also, things have changed up with the Ed Reitan auction:

TV sets, cameras and other items from Ed Reitan's collection will be auctioned beginning at the 2015 Convention. Each item will have a reserve price (announced at the Convention). They will be in our silent auction, with bids accepted from 8:30 AM until about 6 PM on Saturday, May 2. If the reserve is met, the item will be sold.

If the item does not sell in the Convention silent auction, it will be put in an online auction on this site. The auction will last for about 30 days. Exact closing dates and times will be announced when the online auction begins.

bigaudioal 04-22-2015 10:51 AM

I am interested in 1940s/1950s 7 inch and 10 inch sets. Preferable with good CRTs, but will consider nice condition sets with bad CRTs too. Bring em if you got em! :thmbsp:

If I bring home any more consoles I will not be married much longer.

But consoles are so nice! You just have to always adopt 1 in 1 out when you reach capacity.

rld-tv01 04-22-2015 11:36 AM

You need consoles to stack tabletops on. Most wood tables are higher priced then the 1940/150 tv consoles.

Kamakiri 04-22-2015 12:08 PM

In my case, I currently have 11 consoles and only 4 tabletops, and one of those tabletops is sitting on its own TV table.

I seem to be having the opposite issue :D

Can always start stacking consoles for some console on console action. :D

I know first hand that a literal wall of consoles is an impressive site to behold.

Kamakiri 04-22-2015 01:42 PM

All of mine are monsters. And I have two cats that would love to think that they were some kind of jungle gym :pistols:

Electronic M 04-22-2015 02:16 PM

Put the littler monsters on the bigger ones, and get one of those handheld motorized pet nail files to round off/smooth their claws so they can't climb.

Our Ginger kitty used to climb the curtains in the house I grew up in, and hide in the top on the wall mount, but as she got bigger than kitten size that started to bend and damage the whole shebang, and eventually to keep it from becoming dangerous the claws were continually kept dulled.

Will there be live streaming of the event as in previous years? Won't be able to attend.

One week from today!

BigDavesTV 04-24-2015 09:14 AM

Let's all hope the weather is warmer and drier by next weekend! :-) It'll be a good, fun time, regardless!
Looking forward to next weekend. I plan to arrive on Friday afternoon, to be at the Social hour.

vts1134 04-24-2015 10:24 AM

I just looked at the 10 day forecast this morning and for what it's worth it looks pretty nice :tresbon:.

Well, I just got one more console that I am picking up at ETF. Too nice to pass up!!! Thanks Kamakiri.

bigaudioal 04-24-2015 02:27 PM

If anyone has an original SAMS set 496, folder 2, I would be interested in it at ETF. That will give you a clue as to which console I just got.

Yeah, I no sooner get the sucker home and Al weasels me out of it ;)

bigaudioal 04-24-2015 02:45 PM

Weasels?!?!? Yeah, ok, weasels. HA!

Since selling my daily driver Admiral console knew I needed to fill that void. This will do nicely!

old_tv_nut 04-25-2015 09:01 PM

NAME BADGE!

ETF uses those paper sticky name badges that curl up and fall off your shirt.

If you've got a plastic badge holder, bring it to stick your convention badge to - and consider printing your videokarma name on it too.

Kamakiri 04-27-2015 08:03 AM

Anyone happen to have a spare ballast tube for a Motorola 7"? Also in need of a 1T4, a really nice 85 year old guy needs one for his radio :)
