The end... Sorry about all this clutter, but now all my previous posts in this thread have their pictures back in action. With them hosted here on this site, I suspect they will stay in place for a long time. :)

FYI to 621 and 630 lovers. I have a NOS detent kit (RCA #71463), if the tuner detent is bad. $30 ppd

Tom,
What did you do for the safety caps. I know one goes from the "neutral" to ground. Did you put the other one downstream of the on-off switch? If so, how did you do it. Looking for ideas. Thanks.

Tom,
I figured out a decent way to install a safety cap after the on-off switch and before the transformer. All is well.

Hi Crist,

I'd have to open mine up to see what I did, but most likely I simply replaced the existing line bypass cap(s) with safety caps and wired them the same as the originals.
