I've got that same model RCA. It had been bought new by one of the wealthiest men in our small town. A smart looking set.

A little ways to go yet

Nice! What kind of guts will be in your Kinet? You're pretty much at liberty to put in whatever, though making it work at all won't be original....

The Kinet was to be a add on monitor to a TV down the hall.
It was a 9 inch screen. Never have found a 9 inch round CRT,
5, 7, 8 and 10 but not 9. So it has a 9 inch monitor in the top
and maybe fake controls in bottom, but power and video cables
come up from bottom hidden behind the 1/2 round wood on the sides.
Audio will be in bottom and there is room for a tv tuner but dont know
if Ill add tuner. The older monitor can be set to Kinet orignal 441/30 standard
but then has to be run off a scan convertor which I have but will keep
it at 525/30 I think.
Will add a newer PIC, has stain and finish on wood now. Just need to do final assembly.
Close to retire, got started into wood working. This is first of many different
TVs?

This thread has been quiet, so here's my latest "house anchor".

It's a 1948 Maganavox Imperial Windsor, 12" CRT, AM/FM/SW + 2 speed phono, 45 watt amplifier driving a 15" woofer and a multicell horn, all contained in a 7'3" high bookcase. I received all the documentation including a letter from Magnavox dated 12/2/48 thanking the buyer for selecting a Magnavox product.

Oh yea, this one came out of a 3rd floor apt in Manhatten

Wow! I never knew that those monster vertical consoles Maggie sold in the 60s/70s could trace their lineage back that far! Has got to be a very rare set.

That bad boy TRULY is a "Magnificent Magnavox"...How much of it still works? You really MUST get it going...I think it would be a cryin' shame not to do so...That maybe the only one in the whole world left...Certainly its in the best shape...Congrats on an UNBELIEVABLE score !!-Sandy G.

Surprisingly the set is fully functional, it hasn't been restored recently as far as I know. When I get some time I'll pull the chassis' and check them out.

Awesome set, Eric H. !!! , I have a panther for top of my TV, I always wanted one of those coool Clocks, must get. One of the best B/W sets I've seen. :D

Zenith Space Command
 

With a little help from a local AudioKarma member, I was able to restore this late 50's Zenith Space Command. It worked when I got it..just had to replace all of the caps, check a few resistors and swap out some tubes.
