I'm guessing that the set is original. The photo is pretty clear and the screen looks like a round B/W CRT. It appears that they just needed composite inputs to use it with their cable.

What is that little round "plug" to the right of the volume/contrast knobs... is that a standard feature for these sets, or perhaps a window for a remote control sensor? Perhaps the junk sticking out the back is the rear of a DTV converter?

Sorry guys, that set has been gutted. :rant:

I have this same set - all original. There's no way you could stick that DTV box inside the cabinet with the original chassis.
That's also not the original back with a CRT cap so a 10BP4 wouldn't fit. That round "plug" shouldn't be there either. Channel knob is wrong too.

It would be a kick to see a pic of it with the back removed..... I wonder how much crap the sellers gonna get when it arrives and the buyer makes the same observation we did?

On the upside, its still a tv and no fish floating in the front hehehe

I'm surprized they were able to match the front so well. I would love to see inside. I thought about the room for the box after I made the post...

I'd like to see it too - it really does look like a B&W CRT.

Yep, nice cabinet too if anyone has a spare chassis.

The box in the back looks like my old Radio Shack RF modulator (newer version with S-video).

If i have time i will take off the back. I checked with original owner and he said he believes it is new TV in old cabinet. Let's go with that.

Will somebody please blow taps for that tv?

Oh that is just sad. Well at least it's an RCA CRT. Even though that might mean funai or some Korean junk.

When i first saw this, I thought the screen of the CRT looked a little darker than it was supposed to be. At first, I thought it was just the picture, but apparently it's a little more than just that!

Any guesses about how the CRT is mounted ? I don't see anything attached to the corner mount holes. At least it is a working TV and not a fish tank or cat box...

I wonder if this is a genuine Posterization? For what it is, it looks very well done.

The guy that converted it didn't care if it had any ventilation with that solid back cover. Even solid state stuff needs air, and there's a CRT, of course. Wait: are those vents on top or is one of them the speaker?

One does have a speaker, the other is a vent. Someone used mine for an ashtray :tears:

DOUBLE YUK! But the more I look at it, the more likely that seems. At first I thought I saw custom made formed spacers above and below the crt, that might be bonded to the t-band then screwed through the bottom of the cabinet and, perhaps attached to some features at the top of the cabinet, such as the the "ribs" that are across the top (and sides as well). But I think that my "spacers" are just light reflections from the front of the cabinet.

Now that I look at it again it appears that they slotted the ribs on tob and that the corner of the mounting tab fits into it.
