CTC-7 in D.C. Interested?
3 Attachment(s)
Of course you are, especially in a nice Limed Oak cabinet.
A woman wrote me about this set she found, I advised her that it was a collectable set and it was possibly worth several hundred dollars, of course until you see it in person, check the tube etc, that's up in the air. She originally wanted to repurpose it but she would like to sell it now. She says it's missing the back, looks like the tube is a later replacement and has a cataract, or the neck is snapped off? If anyone is interested contact me and I'll give you the contact info. Perhaps if you have a nice empty cabinet that would work for a Fish Tank she might give some consideration to a trade. |
I like the legs........
|
Looks -HOPEFULLY-like a cataract. Wish I was closer.

GREG THANKS:banana: |

Nice CTC-7 "Sanford" model. The Limed Oak is kinda rare. And one of the more attractive, imo, and "compact" CTC-7 models for you space saver collectors.

Looks like a cataract... Clean in the middle & cruddy at the sides. That's the first set I've seen with 6 legs...
|
Greg, I sent you an E-mail through VK, let me know if you got it.
|
I'm pretty sure it's a cataract, that means it's been replaced however.
|
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Left Her a Voicemail,
TAHNKS IN ADVANCE, Greg:smoke: |
THANKS !!!!!

Radford is still a pretty good little jaunt from DC, but not unreasonable for something like this...IF it pans out...And I HOPE sincerely it does ! We'll be expecting pics, you know !!!
|
I live in Radford but work @ Goddard (NASA) Greenbelt,MD
During the week work in DC
|
Irene just called, I happy, get with her tommorrow.
|
Calling her tommorrow @ 3 P.M. to meet at her house
Still in her VW Passat wagon ; I have a MINI Cooper S............hope she can follow me to Lanham and have it put in the basement apartment, that I'm renting ??! Arranged to call her after 3 P.M. tomorrow:yes::banana::thmbsp: : Monday.
Crossing my fingers , the son was selling everything because his parents were moving to Florida ; and now have left. Missing the back, but son says it still WORKS !!! |
PUH-LEEZE Be Careful...Don't hurt yrself, or the set...Naturally, the designers of these things just HAD to leave the most delicate part stuck out past the back, just ASKING to be knocked off...
|
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,

HIGH VOLTAGE CAGE MISSING AND HV TUBE MISSING AND IT'S TUBE CAP was shorting to the ANODE {red} WIRE going to COLOR TUBE ULTOR .:D:no::yes::tears::smoke: |
Great looking set, very nice blond cabinet. This would have to be the first 1950s colour set to have a cataract between the safety glass and the CRT as from all the roundie pics I've seen I only see cataracts on the early and mid 60s roundies.

Reminds me of some comedian when I was a kid. He basically had one joke; in this instance he would say:
"In America, TV fit inside car. In Russia, car fit inside TV!" |

Maybe it didn't fit in his Mini-Cooper!

I work in that area (fairfax) and "might" be able to arrange a pickup and ride home.
I dont understand I thought the poster got it and took all the pics? It would be good to know if the CRT is any good. (other than the cataract of course). |
I just received a very nice letter from Irene, (the seller)
The set is available, I suggested she post some pictures of the chassis and tube and such. She seems like a really nice person and has become interested enough in old sets to do some research and look for more. She knew the term "Necked" meaning the CRT had a busted neck, however I don't think that's the case here, more likely a cataract. I told her how to check for that and explained that it could be fixed but not to try it herself because it's dangerous. I'd love to have it myself to replace my beat up old "Anderson" but it's just too far away. |
anybody here pop for that set?
