Attn Charles! North Hills 10
Or anyone in the area:
A very nice 10? for $125 http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...106023167.html |
oh, man!
I been lookin for that model! Anyone here get it? |
I missed the ad in my weekly Sat AM CL search... If it's still there, hopefully someone can call on it. My wife has an appt for minor surgery today, so I won't be able to go after it .
Charles |
I would go after it if I had room also its not likely being in LA. Almost every local set I call on has already been taken. The fish tankers, interior decorators and collectors are all over the stuff out here.
|
Oh man! I might have to do a long distance run!!!
|
That looks like a 9.
|
Im picking it up Saturday! Finally found my roundie!

Congratulations! I'm glad you got it!!! If you're going to have any time while you're in the area, maybe we could meet up and I could get that jig to you? It's not far from North Hills where I have it stored. Charles |
A good price, and it looks clean and cataract-free.

No I dont. I sold it to a couple gentleman from the LA area that had a small TV museum and vintage video center. I have the info on the company, have to find it somewhere. It went to a good home. |
congrats! You are lucky to have got it. Everytime I have gone after a local set its been taken. I dont even try anymore. We know it will have a great home with you.
|
Congrats Shawn! I'm jealous :D
Can't wait to see it running. |
This set might be one that had a detachable safety glass in front of the kine. They were made that way, too!
Nice set. Looks maple to me. I'm glad you are going to get it. |
Thanks guys
Hey Charles. Made it to Ventura finally. About the zenith test jig. I'm going down tomorrow morning to Newport then back up through north hills. I have your cell number I'll figure out a way to get it. And did you want anything for it? |
So who wants to guess the model? John says it's a 9. I'm going to bet the same or a 10.
|
Isn't it a 210-CK-88 CTC-9?
Steve |
And the CRT for sure is an AXP right?. The FJP had it's own safety glass bonded. By 1959 I'm sure they did away with the glass frit CRT I think.
Actually I found some info online. For sure a ctc-9 and a 21cyp22 if it's the orig CRT |

I'll be keeping an ear on the phone.... It's pouring here in Moorpark, so hopefully you have an enclosed vehicle! Also caution: I busted a 21CYP22 in one of those sets, because I didn't check the two bottom chassis bolts. I've seen a lot of those CTC-7 to CTC-11 sets with only one bolt up above the power transformer, and the whole chassis can fall into the tube while carrying the set if there isn't at least one bolt on the bottom and one on top. Should be CYP, that's what was in my 9. |
