Interest in a Crap Swap?
 

We did this on AudioKarma years ago, and it was a lot of fun :)

Basically, you fill a box with stuff that you'd love to see someone put to use that you don't want to simply discard, and have been holding on to for years. You send the stuff to another VK member, and get a mystery box from someone else. I'd be drawing the names at random and collecting the addresses for those who sign up.

The end result is that someone else puts your stuff to use, and you get a new box full of cool stuff! We'd have to make it so that everyone's swapped material would fit inside one of those USPS flat rate boxes, to make it fair. Those that wanted to go overboard I guess would be welcome to do so. Doesn't necessarily have to be directly TV related, for example I have a few neat LED calculators that could make it inside a box, along with some other stuff......

Would anyone be interested in participating? :)

I was selling mystery boxes on ARF for a little while, and had fun with it. Basically just let them go for cost of shipping (medium flatrate boxes) plus a couple bucks. I would be willing to try doing a swap. Lord knows I have plenty of stuff to pass along!

I don't mind giving my junk away, but getting more might be a bit difficult to justify....

I'd love to attend once everyone decides on the time and place. I have some stuff which is NOT junk that I'll gladly give away or trade for stuff I can use more. Like you said, the A-K meets are always great so this could be even better! TVs! CRTs! haha

I would say that at a minimum, it should be a USPS flat rate box. However, if you want to send a bigger one, that's your call ;)

Send as much as you'd like, but make sure the box is at a minimum the size of a USPS flat rate box. We'd like it if you could get your box shipped within a week if possible :)

Whoever gets mine is prolly gonna come look me up & Punch Me in The Nose...I'm such a CHEAP bestid...All my Good Junque is way too big, & I'm too lazy to look for a Box, so I just sent an ugly piece of dull grey metal about 2" in diameter...Had a picture of a rather heavyset woman's face on one side, & a spread-eagle buzzard/turkey vulture or somethin' on the other, w funny markings that said "1896", "Liberty", "In God We Trust", & "One Dollar" on it. The holder it was in had some strange hieroglyphics on it, too-"MS-60" & "Unc", whatever the hell THAT means. They REALLY oughta throw me outta here, miserable cheap bastard that I am...

Oh, I hope so...Those Silver Dollars are regarded as some of the PRETTIEST coins we ever produced...I spent 1/2 my life collecting them, now, I'm givin' 'em away...

Included was a nice old Philco tube tester, a unique digital HV tester, some vhs tapes including a good copy of A&E's history of Television..

I'm ashamed to admit that I still haven't gotten my lazy ass to the P.O. . . . today's a week isn't it. But the recipient will be pleased with the goodies I've conjured up !!:yes:
