Post those Sylvania Halo-Lite tvs
 

Hello in tv land let us see those Sylvania Halo-Lite tvs I have an early 50s combo unit with a 21 inch crt the tv does not work but the phono and radio does it also included the instruction manual and sales reciept my table model needs ecapped but works as found these sets were found in a small town here in a tv shop that closed in the late 50s the shops roof was caving in and the trees around the building was growing in through the sides a friend of mine blessed me with these sets plus several other sets rcas, and zeniths, and others ...:banana::banana::banana::yes::yes:

The Halo-lites are great collectibles. I really enjoy seeing them.
and yes, tv time is fun ! good name

No bragging involved, I like the restoration of items that reflect a time when I believe American was in better shape than it is now. TV's are a small part of that.

Got this recently from a fellow VK member. Picture is pretty nice (washed out a bit when I lightened the overall picture. Strange cabinet.

This was my first Halolight. Got it off ebay about 14 years ago. This was the first one that I rebuilt. Plus, who doesn't like Dark Shadows?

I have one more 1959 Halo identical to the first one posted in this thread. Got it from a VK member in CA a number of years ago. I like to swap sets around every once in a while.

A Sylvania halolight has been on my list of sets to keep an eye out for since I saw an ad for them in a vintage magizine I found as a kid back in the 90's.

Seeing the styling of those sets makes me more interested in looking for one.

Sell me one of your TV's and you'll have $$$ for a good used PC! Now, how far are you from Tacoma?

BTW, I'm looking for a mid-50's 21" RCA table model with a metal cabinet. I found one, but the seller is near the Mississippi river and it's too far to drive...

Those sets shown were not good value for the money. They had those cheapie two piece series string chassis. The same chassis they used in their lowest priced portable.

Which Halo-Lite are you referring to? My 27" two-cabinet model fell over in a moving van and a 5U4 came rolling out... That would imply a transformer power supply, I have it buried right now or I'd go check. The end-table half is xfmr-powered with a 7Y4 rectifier.

The Halolight I had was one chassis with a PTX in it, did they have different chassis?

Didn't they produce halolight sets for a decade or so? I'm sure the chassis used were many and varied.

I replied before but it didn't enter. The models built for the years 1958-60, both 21 & 23 models that were shown at the worlds fair.
