how many suckers will fall for this?
|
Don't these tubes come from the factory "pre-failed"? I mean, isn't their reliability worse than a clapped out FIAT?
Anthony |
Since they've got more tube types than crazy Bible names, how many people will actually know or CARE what they are? :sigh:
|
point here is i have never paid more than 1.00 for nos.

PS As Trawlerman discovered, I do have a small stash of boatanchor pics archived, and I look for more when I find time. Hammerlunds look more comfortable and powerful than RCAs anyway. Hallicrafters is my sentimental favorite though. 73, and good day. |
You have to remember this seller is dealing in the "audiphool" world, where the credo is "if it's expensive it must sound good"
Chuck |
YES, THAT"S QUITE TRUE...
That would be why I'm sticking close to my groups when I finally get my color roundie. You guys are awesome and have almost everything anyway!

and btw i got a bunch of nos 6l6gc for .50 ea at a hamfest recently. deals are out there just gotta look.right place/right time. |
If we could just convince them (the audiophools) that USED 6GH8's are even BETTER, well, then I can retire! Hmmm...also got a load of "pull" 6AU6's & 6SN7's, etc. Heck, I've got a LOT of stuff around here, come to think of it...most of it nobody wants, though!

I haven't had enough time to finish repairing the 2-3 tube sets that need it here...I've spent so much time moving SS in and out or onto the shelves/into service...and I'm just paying bills at this point. I'll be like the Blues Brothers' Plymouth Gran Fury cop car--it threw a rod and a 5 qt. capacity engine lost 30 qts. in the big chase scene...and they still got there! :lmao:

if you can stand to read all the drivel you can figure out which is the hot ticket this week and drop em on ebay! |

Aren't some of these just TV sweep tubes anyway? Always heard they were as useless as tits on a boar hog...mebbe I oughta go mine my Tooob Junque Box & see what treasure I have.1974 Mopars-Doncha remember they caught hell at the time as having imitation 1972 GM B & C bodies ? I liked 'em, though. Wonder how many cars "The Blues Brothers" ate up? -Sandy G.

Ask Del Shannon's old keyboard player! That's what that squealy, high-pitched keyboard was made of--junk chassis parts.
The rest is in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame  :thmbsp: |

Back to 6GH8As... As a kid who loved toob TVs, I once made some refrigerator magnets with dead 6GH8As and a hot-glue gun. |
...An' there was the grandaddy of 'em all...1974's "Gone in 60 Seconds". How many cars did THAT one eat up? Who didn't squeal in delight a little when Eleanor tore thru the Caddy dealership & tore up a bunch of big, ol' expensive Caddys ?!? Yeah, I'm sick...-Sandy G.

The only scene ZI really liked in Cannonball Run II was where the little old lady crashed into the Goodyear store and flipped off the attendant. I think a 6GH8 blew out too.
