Someone should need this.

I might toss a bid in on it if the seller knows how to pack CRTs properly. My packard bell is in need of a CRT.

maybe he has the box from VDC it came back in :scratch2:

wonder if he's an AK'er...

jpdylon 01-26-2007 12:03 AM

ended at almost $230?? :yikes:

And reserve STILL not met?

blue_lateral 01-26-2007 12:09 AM

This is a used tube, right?

jpdylon 01-26-2007 12:19 AM

auction description said it was rebuilt by video display corp

blue_lateral 01-26-2007 12:25 AM

rebuilds cost quite a bit.

bgadow 01-26-2007 11:50 AM

A used, rebuilt tube, sounds like. What's it cost now to have one rebuilt, $250 or more, plus shipping? Of course, with it you get a guarantee, I'd assume. At least this ebay tube should have low hours...I can't imagine it being used that much over the last decade or so.

I paid less for my entire TV!

jpdylon 01-26-2007 11:29 PM

Oh man! That is an absolutely perfect set

what brand is that?

you...uh...wouldn't want to...sell that..anytime?

in all seriousness, I would love a set like that. Tabletops take up so much less room than consoles. Does it work, or is it just for decoration?

blue_lateral 01-26-2007 11:56 PM

Packard Bell?

Steve Hoffman 01-27-2007 12:20 AM

1964 New Old Stock Packard Bell, yes. Works great but it's only been on about 1 hour in 43 years. Made in Los Angeles... Neat set, eh?

jpdylon 01-27-2007 12:24 AM

Very cool.

packard bell had some really neat styling. I have a 64 PB round screen console that Eric H spotted and picked up for me (thanks again Eric). Its one of the more unique looking sets I have.

A very nice set! Can you show a photo with this set in operating mode and some photos from the inside (chassis, crt)?

Eckhard

Steve Hoffman 01-27-2007 10:48 AM

Don't have any snaps of the inside, sorry. However, I will say that it is eerie to look inside and see a totally NEW chassis. All the tubes are still brand new! Don't get many chances like that anymore!

I'll see what I can do one of these days..

Here's another one, still in it's original box: http://cgi.ebay.com/21FJP22A-CRT-In-...QQcmdZViewItem

The guy even shows a picture of it hooked to his crt tester, only shows it testing the green gun though.

WA3WLJ 08-09-2007 05:45 AM

I Like His 15GP22 with one gun out;BUT, Still under vacuum

Here's for a Display CT-100:banana:

Pete Deksnis 08-09-2007 06:57 AM

Kirk,

Could you also post the date code of this tube? I would like to add the tube to my page on the subject. Thanks, Pete.

http://home.att.net/~pldexnis/potpou...le_History.htm

BTW, the serial number is 10032; you may find it etched into the phosphor dot plate and shadow mask mounting assemblies (viewable through the edge of the faceplate). IK2758 is not part of the serial number for this tube. I suspect RCA Lancaster had a load of unused but stamped s/n labels and simply over-stamped them with the number that identified the matched assemblies.

Sandy G 08-09-2007 07:13 AM

Reckon the guy ever heard of FOCUS ?!? Sheesh...

bgadow 08-09-2007 11:51 AM

I wonder if he has tried tapping the neck to get that other filament to light? I have one 21FJP22 that had a loose filament; after tapping it has worked for years, no problem.
