RCA 610V1 Console Found!

I just got this AM-FM baby from the local Salvation Army thrift. Pictures will be posted later. Its a local radio, with the original Dunham's Music House tag inside the cabinet. (Dunham's closed in 2006)

The push buttons are all marked with local AM stations. I bet the FM was rarely used, as back then, there were no FM's here in Asheville. The dial goes from 88-107 on the FM scale.

All original tubes. Has been worked on, as the original screws are missing that hold the chassis down. I have replacements.

78 RPM changer is somewhat damaged. I will start on it later.

Tube compliment:

V1--6BE6---FM 1st Det.-Osc.
V2--6BE6---AM 1st Det.-Osc.
V3--6BA6---IF Amplifier
V4--6AU6---Driver
V5--6AL5---FM Ratio Detector
V6--6SQ7---AM 2nd Det.-AVC-Phase Inverter
V7--6SQ7---AF Amplifier
V8--6K6GT--Output
V9--6K6GT--Output
V10-5Y3GT--Rectifier

It makes a good 5 watts (6.5 MAX) of audio!

A good scrubbing of the cabinet brought back its good looks. I'll turn it on after I replace the main filter capacitor, as the one that is in there is bloated and has leaked. Other than this, the electronics all look fine, for now.

I HAD an old 1961-era GE console until today, that I traded the SA people for this console. I think I made the right decision to trade.

I got the schematic from NostalgiaAir.
