What year was this Silvertone radio produced.

Do you have a model number? Just a guess it looks like late 40s or early 50s vintage to me.

Hmmm... not in Sams, Beitmans, or Riders... but my guess is the same - '40's.

I have basically the same radio with a slightly different cabinet. I got it with the original owner's manual which is dated 1946.

It's in Riders Volume 15 - Nostalgia Air has it. (6105A) They say Year: Pre August 1939, presumably because that was the publishing date for the schematic. The tube complement is similar to a tabletop Silvertone I have, from 1946 as well....

One other thing - the Silvertone 6105A photo at http://www.hlara.org/gallery/mh/DSCN1484
can't be right. The Riders shows a dial cord stringing diagram, and the radio shown in the link uses a knob for the tuning dial.

Sams lists chassis 101.662 2B as being in Photofact 7, folder 26. That would put it at around 1946 or so. Going by the Rider's on Nostalgia Air, it looks like they re-used the 6105 model number after the war on this set. The schematic in volume 15 should be correct for this set, which would be post-war.

Yeah, due to the massive "Federal building/skyscraper" school of design, I'd say late '30s-'40s. Due to a certain blue, flickering, one-eyed monster, big consoles like that were pretty passe' by 1950 or so.
