clueless on a repair

My mother owns an old Radio phono console, Broadban Telefunken
Made in Western Germany. EMUD West Germany Electronics.
I think the tubes are bad. She said she remember's listening to it when
she was little across sea's stations. Don't have any idea on who to
ask for help. Could someone point me in the right direction with a web
site???? Thanks

And what is wrong with it, exactly?

Can you get a model # for us?

Usually bad capacitors are the biggest problem...tubes do not wear out unless used and in most cases are still OK.
Here is a website which talks about problems/repairs on old radios:

If you post your location, maybe someone will know a local repair person...

Don't turn it on without a variac or you will do more damage to it.

Can be a tube or two

I have repaired many of these sets. If we were talking about a 30's or 40's set I would look at the tubes last. With these 50's and 60's imports I check the tubes first. I would alos suggest you clean the switches and controls before you do anything. Tell me exactly what it doesn't do.

Bingo! :thmbsp: The pushbutten "keys" at the bottom of the fancy glass dial are notorious for weak contact issues.

The other 2 major bugs I've found are open capacitors and failed power transformers.
