CTC-16 Flyback
 

I am having trouble finding the correct flyback for a CTC-16AH chassis. If it is the same fly as in a CTC-15 chassis, then I have the RCA part # but don't have a cross reference to a Thordarson part number.

Any help would be appreciated. :thmbsp:

Unfortunately Moyers isn't open on New Year's Day and I was hoping that someone might have had that info handy so I could search the "bay" etc.

Look closer at that. I have never seen a 16 that takes the same flyback as a 15. If the HV rectiifier cap goes into a hole in the flyback, you need the 16 one, which is different.

The good news is, last time I checked with Moyers, (admittedly a long time ago) they still had 16's. They had been out of 15's for a long time. I know this because I am also looking for a 15.

Well I kinda figured that the fly for a 15 wasn't the same as the fly for a 16. The only spare flys I have are one that is for my CTC-21 and a one on a parts chassis CTC-38, but the 38 is still fully functional so I hesitate to tear into it. The other concern is the fact that the CTC-21 chassis forward is for a rectangular CRT and I don't know if this makes a difference in the flybacks or if RCA just used the same fly from the CTC-16 through to the CTC-38.

I just got the schematic for the CTC-16AH which is apparently different from my CTC-16X chassis so I will start digging the part numbers up. I had just hoped that someone knew offhand.

I'm missing the 16AH sams but have the 16x. Sams doesn't list any crosses but they do show a part #of 115843 which crosses to Thordarson FLY278. Hope that helps.

i have both of those flybacks-used,of course,but both are good units

Thanks Bgdow, I really appreciate the cross info. The parts list shows the HO xformer as RCA Part #113992 but I don't show a Thordarson cross. Does that part number cross to the FLY278 as well?

I have a good running chassisfor sale. I tried to sell complete tv on ebay but nobody wants to pay shipping. I will part out this set for you guys.

I have an N.O.S. RCA 113992 which is for the earlier run CTC-16 sets...The CTC-16 "X" serries used the 115843, but both are interchangeable..Please let me know if you want it. -Rob
