Looks like a Zenith? Whatever it is, the price is sure right!

Charles

That doesn't look like a roundie. It has a round cataract, but the tube bezel looks rectangular.

It's a roundie I agree with Charles could be a Zenith without UHF.

That maple/yellow tone reminds me of the Philco roundies

Not a Zenith. Its a very rare set...... Its an Admiral with the sonar remote control!!!! That round hole is the microphone. Thats a pull down control door on the lower right. If any of you have a the book called "Color TV serviceing made easy" by wayne lemons and carl babcoke (1965 sams publication). take a look at the cover photo. Its a color pic of a tech adjusting the convergence (with a color bar patter displayed??) of a set that looks exactly just like this one on CL. The cover photo shows an admiral with the remote clipped onto the front grille. The photo from the book seems to match up darn near perfectly with exception that the one on CL has a different (nicer) cabinet. somebody better make the effort to save this NOW! Wonder what other sets the seller has. Notice the other TV off to the left?

If they can hold it until July, I'd grab it. :scratch2: I wonder if my property manager would do it for a buck?

1964 Zenith

The set in question is a 1964 or 65 Zenith with the knobs missing, look at the picture tube bezel and the control door at the bottom, The quality went in and then somebody didn't take care of it.

3Guncolor 02-10-2008 02:49 PM

Looking at it again I'm not so sure it's a Zenith. For one thing the control door is too small for that style.

drh4683 02-10-2008 07:39 PM

Its an admiral, Id bet money on it. The picture on my book is a perfect match.

zenithfan1 02-10-2008 08:15 PM

I agree, The bezel around the screen matches my Admiral to a tee.

truetone36 02-10-2008 08:50 PM

I agree also, it's an Admiral. Someone better grab this one as its very seldom found any more.
