A face only a mother could love! Looks like it was designed by someone from Maytag. Hope somebody can give it home, just the same.

I THOUGHT that tv looked familiar... Like my moms old washing machine... ironicly.. a MAYTAG!! hehehehe

Just have to paint the upper controll pannel area white, and paint the rest of the cabinet aqua blue then park the tv between the washer and dryer.

And never miss another moment on tv while doing the laundry.. AAAAGAIN :D

Obviously this is a series-string set with minimal hardware. Look at the
low-profile chassis. This leads to a question: has anyone restored a
series-string set of this vintage with any kind of success?

Now that's a very unusual cabinet! It reminds me, not only of a washing machine, but also of some of the ugly Philco radio-Hi-Fi consoles of the late 40s. Definitely dated in design, and therefore probably few of them survived. Much like the ugly fake wood-carved gothic ebony-finish color consoles of the early 70s.

Sure! I've done many, including Predictas. Naturally they aren't as good performers as power transformer sets, but they're no harder to restore (except for finding weird filament voltage tubes.)
