Capehart speakers
5 Attachment(s)
I have had parts of an old Capehart record changer for years with the intention of restoring.
It has two amps, a pair of 5" speakers and one big 12" speaker. The small speakers look like the ones in some Scott radios. The 12" speaker looks like a Jensen, but it's labled as Capehart. The only testing I did was to measure the coils which were good. Anyone got advice on what these are? |
what are they?
valuable. was it the Capehart Turnover Changer? Brock |
Capehart made high quality phono/radio consoles - Henry Kloss himself spoke of how nice they sounded and they were an early influence on him in the
1940's , peaking his interest in high fidelity when a young lad of about 18. Don't know who made the drivers, but are likely of very good quality. |
Just noticed a speaker that looks like your larger driver on ebay..bid to over $500. ! ebay nuber 200226246209.

Yep these old field coil Capehart speakers are going for big bucks to the Asians for their 1-watt SET systems. I've seen nice consoles gutted to sell the drivers on ebay. You might have some of those.
