Grundig 960 Anniversary Edition

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it as nice as the original in fit and finish and performance? Will someone please share a picture of an actual unit.

My advice would be to fuggeddabout the "new" 960, & pick up a REAL German Grundig from the '50s or the '60s...Or an Emud, SABA, Telefunken...Usually a very decent one can be picked up from "That Auction Site" for reasonable money, & once you go thru it, you'll HAVE something worth having, not some wothless Chinese junk that barely works.

Hi!
Beauty can only be swipped with more beauty, grin. I am nearly shure you would be disappointed. Nothing can cope the aura of 50 years.

Thanks for finding an excellent write-up on a costly Chinese junk. The seller wanted $149 and called it hard to find NOS. Thanks guys for saving me some money. :thmbsp:

The amazing thing is that they had the gall to charge around $400 for those damn things when they came out. Which is a shame, for that kind of money they could have made a decent basic SW/MW/FM radio...which that is not.

I always looked at these like the Crosley and Thomas repro radio's. Their ok to look at but thats where the attention stops. By no means should these or any repro style radio be compared to their former counterparts as the quality and workmanship just isnt there. My only concern in Brians write up was made it sound like he was comparing it as a true Grundig which it was not. Its just chinese made junk like the rest of the repro radio's. Yes, they work and in some rare instances work well but for how long is anybodies guess. For the money they wanted for these things you can find the real thing and be twice as happy with it and at least be able to repair it if it does quit on you.
