Closeup and detailed pics of the Victor Radio Electrola RE-45

Hey ya'll...
Below there is a list of links to pictures of the Victor Radio Electrola RE-45 that I've spent the last 4 hours working on with the Murphy's Oil Soap. Seeing as these are seriously high resolution images... and the max this forum allows is 900x900... I decided to host these pictures on my website. Be warned... if you do not have broadband... DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VIEW THESE PICTURES. For those who do have broadband, you should be aware that these are 3072x2304 pixel images... so opening more than 3 or 4 at a time may cause issues. At any rate... the high resolution images are linked below so ya'll can see exactly what kind of state the cabinet is in. Some of the pictures are a little blurry because my hands are not very stable.
Enjoy.

Looks pretty good. You might want to try some Howard's Restore-A-Finish on that. It might help bring the finish back to life. I've also heard good reports of using Gojo hand cleaner (the jelly kerosene like stuff, no pumice or orange) on the wood. I've actually done it on my Philco TV to remove the heavy smoke residue. It works well without damaging the finish.

I'm not so sure the finish can be salvaged. The top, especially, is in an extremely rough state. I'm leaning more and more towards sanding and restaining. Biggest issue... is that there are areas where the veneer has come up or is missing or is damaged, and I'm not sure how to replace/repair such things.

I'm also useless with woodworking so I sympathize. Some of the guys over at antiqueradios.org have done extensive refinishing and cabinet rebuilding, perhaps someone there can help out with what this one should look like.
