Old Stock Replacement CRT's On Milwaukee Craigslist
 

This may be a long shot, but perhaps their could be a few early color CRT's in there.

I tested all of these crt's for the seller about 4 months ago. Her father was in the tv repair business in Milwaukee. The tubes are in a storage shed southwest of Milwaukee in the Big Bend area.

I used a B&K 465 tester. From what I could tell, all of the tubes are pulls from old sets or weak tubes that were pulled to have a new crt installed. I was only interested in roundies and I got 3 tubes that were usable but not great by any means.

I can guarantee that the emission values she is stating are accurate based on my B&K 465. I tested every tube she had.

All B&W, or any color?

I think if the tube number ends in a 4 (excluding the "A"), it is BW for "four elements"...

ending in P4 means phosphor number 4, a white-emitting phosphor, which is the fourth phosphor registered by the Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) of the Radio Manufacturers Association (RMA), now the Electronic Industries Association (EIA).

All three-color tubes end in P22, which is the designation for a three-part screen with red, green, and blue phosphors.

So, yes, all the tubes mentioned are monochrome - but I still wanted to ask if there are any unmentioned color tubes.

Man you are a genious! I never thought that much in depth to the charictaristics of the ending no.s on the crt's. Good info to know!

You are correct in that the "P4" suffix indicates a Black-and-white CRT.

Actually, the "P4" suffix means "medium-short persistence white phosphor" (usually zinc sulfide, for a B&W picture).

The "P22" suffix indicates "arranged groups of red, green and blue phosphors" (i.e., color).

Both types of CRT come with a varying number of electrodes (elements).
