I hope he means the anode lead, and not the heavy metal stuff.

I'm sure he thinks the aquadag is heavy metal lead.

Perhaps the confusion arises because there is graphite in the Aquadag coating and also in pencil lead - but the pencil "lead" does not contain lead. Pencil lead is a mixture of graphite and clay.
