Celebrity for a day
 

Guys,

I thought I would share my moment of glory with yall. Our local paper was interested in writing a story on me because of the vintage sets, and it actually made the front page of today's paper.

Since thismorning, i've had about 20 phone calls and/or emails from folks with sets, tubes, parts... you name it. Looks like I might be busy for the next week.

there was one small mistake in the story concerning my Space Command set... they said that my 62 Zenith had the first SC. Actually, it was to read that the Zenith was MY first SC. Other than that, the story was pretty good and I was somewhat impressed.

Of course, my picture in the paper really sucks... I needed a haircut and I can't smile for the camera to save my life. Thank goodness it was a small picture!

Wow... the phone has been ringing off the wall all day long, People have seen this and are calling me to sat they have sets I might want, tubes, parts, test gear... the list goes on. Some people had questions about their own sets as well. Talk about free advertising!

I have a good list of sets to go look at during the week. Sounds like some of them are going to be quite large. One man told me he has TWO Curtis Mathes entertainment centers I might want to have. My goodness I already have two of those!

This has also given AK a little bit of publicty as well. Since they put the URL of my set's site, people have been looking because i have been getting emails through that route. One person's email even mentioned the AK link I have in there... this is good. Hopefully some new AK members coming our way! ;)

Good show, Charlie! We might make a few new TV colectors out of folks, AK may pick up a few new members as well, & maybe, we'll have saved a few old veteran sets from the landfill!! A definate "win-win" situation ! -Sandy G.

You must keep us up to date on the leads you get. Some pretty good sets have come from ads in the paper. Great article!
