Silvertone 4585 tube diagram/schematic
 

Does anyone have a schematic, or at the very least a tube diagram, for a Silvertone model 4585 c.1937?

I'm in a bit of a fix. There are a few tubes missing, but no diagram inside the cabinet, no markings near the sockets and the schematic pasted to the side of the chassis is partly missing.

The Rider schematic I found listed for the 4585 (and three other earlier models) doesn't jive with the partial one on the chassis, and the tube diagram thereon doesn't match at all.

I checked my 4566 which is similiar but I don't think close enough. It looks like this:

(6X5G) (6A7) (6H6G)
...............................(6F5G)
.......................(78) (6B5)

Plus a 6G5 eye tube.

How certain are you about the model number?

I have a copy of Stein's 1930-1942 Silvertone book, and the only models it shows with that exact dial design begin with 44. Specifically: 4441, 4450, 4451, 4465, 4485, 4486. It doesn't list a 4585 at all, but then I don't know how comprehensive this book is (My 6230 isn't included :( ). Would it be worthwhile checking some of these other numbers?

Thanks for your help folks, but I figured this one out this morning.

Apparently the Rider schematic I ordered was for a Silvertone model 4585. I was sent the diagram for model 4585, chassis no. 100.151. (4585 is the number printed on the chassis sticker.)

I checked http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources (which seems to have a very good list of .pdf schematics) and found the rest of the story.

Included within that Rider volume was a schematic for the chassis no. 101410, which matches my radio.

I'm not sure if Sears was the only manufacturer that did this, but I've never seen different chassis numbers within the same model number. Now I can do some serious damage.

Sears did reuse certain model numbers! As you have found out, the chassis number is the one to identify the set by. The first three digits in the chassis number are an internal code that Sears used to identify the manufacturer; your set was made by Colonial (of Buffalo, NY), which made many Silvertone sets. Chassis numbers starting with 100 were made by Stewart-Warner.
