Truckload of sets!

Just got back from picking up a bunch of sets.

This lot includes an RCA 830TS (beat to heck, parts set)
A Crosley 630 clone that looks bad but actually works well!
a couple 12" Philcos, one is parts the other is the model with the rounded top and can probably be restored.
An RCA 630TS that needs a lot of work, got to go back for the chassis later on this one.
And finally the prize of the trip is a GE 803 10" with an AM/FM/radio. Clean set that has been stripped and partially refinished.

Give it time, someday you'll be asking yourself "Why do I have all these old TV's" :D

Can you believe this beat up looking thing works!
Channel 1 set too!

lol. I wish.

I dont have any room for floor models.

I would like to get my hands on more tabletop models.

If the tuner knob on the Philco parts set will work on my arch top, I would be interested in buying or trading.

Eric H 07-04-2004 07:34 PM

Dave, I was going to combine the Philcos to make one set and I will need the knobs, however I'm pretty sure I have an extra channel knob for that set, you are welcome to it.

I will post a picture later.

Dave, will either of these do?

The one on the left is probably more correct, it's plastic and has a small crack where the shaft goes in, also missing the insert. The UHF is just a stick on label and I scraped it off. The other one is metal and plastic.

Big Dave 07-04-2004 08:13 PM

I think the left would work. Mine would use an inner knob for fine tuning. Can you post a side view of the left?

Dave, here's the side view.
The Philcos used an outer knob behind this one for the fine tuner.
Does yours use a square shaft or a D shaft for the fine tuning?

Here's the pick of todays haul, a GE 803

Powered it up and it gets a bar of light on the screen and a big buzz in the (torn up) speaker.
