Silvertone Model 1955

I picked up this Silvertone model 1955 on Sunday at a ham radio flea market. The owner said it "hummed".

It was made in 1936 and has a cool green dial.

I was the first person to ever work on this and replaced about 6 caps and 2 tubes.

It plays great on both AM and short wave.

I just have to do some work on the cabinet.

A nice find at $50.

Nice looking Tombstone! That was a great find for $50. Big, transformer-operated multiband table sets are getting harder to find at swap meets. Congratulations. Cabinet does not look too bad. What does it need? You may just need to polish up and hopefully not need to refinish. Either way, keep us posted.

I have one of these. A nice performer indeed! It is the first tombstone i ever bought and is one of my favorites. It doesnt need alot of antenna wire to pull in the stations either. The airplane dial on these is beautiful.
