For all you guys that gave advice on switching a 21fp4 crt for a 21yp4 thanks again. I was able to make it work I have been looking for a 21fp4 for awhile and the original crt has had to be rejuvanated over and over to stay alive and it always took it about 5 minutes to warm up :tears: I was lucky to find a Packard bell for $35 with a good very strong 21yp4 it mounted rite up to the chassie no problem but when I put it in the tv there was a big gap on the top and bottom of the mask so I got the mask off the Packard Bell and to my delight it fit and no alteration had to be done to my Capehart. The pictures below are before and after. The one with the cat is before. The tv is a 1953 Capehart and one of my favorets to watch .

Wow! How often do things work out like that. Clever.

Very nice job!

Anyone asks "Y" you did it, you tell 'em because you couldn't find the correct "F'n" tube! :thmbsp:

Great Job!

I also could not find a good 21fp4 for my SC 621 Chineese set. I had to resort to having it rebuilt at Hawkeye. Scotty did his usual great job too.

That really was lucky! I sure can't tell. Maybe that's why I saved several old masks up in the attic...
