Zenith Z932

Anyone have any information on a Zenith model Z932 console. Is it tubed, how many, separate amp from pre-amp?
Is it a decent console? Thanks in advance.

It is in Sams 1010 and the "Z" line is from '69, IIRC. I'm 99% sure that this is a solid state console. I think the last tube Zenith consoles were from '65. The one in question should still be a decent model.

Thanks radiotvnut. I was hoping it was tubed as I was interested in pulling the amp from one advertised locally.

Correct, the Z indicates a 1969 model and definately
solid state. Also 932 would place it as a lower line economy model.

I'll add that the very last Zenith tubed consoles from the mid '60's were not all tube. I recently junked one where the amp was solid state and the tuner was tubed. The whole thing was a hot chassis design.

The 1964 & 1965 ZenithModels were the hybrid years with tube tuner and SS amp, the lower
economy models were the hot chassis design. 1966 introsduced the first all SS models, the X series.
Units from RCA, Fisher, Sylvania, etc were also hybrid in these two transistion years.
Magnavox and Philco had 100% solid state models as early as 1963.

I remember the SS console very well. My cousin was proudly playing "Maybe" by the Chantels and wanted to show off the nice bass response from this new stereo his parents bought. It was in an antique white cabinet.
