Crosley 9-407 tv
3 Attachment(s)
I just picked up this Crosley 9-407 TV. Made in 1948. I found it on Craigs List here in New York.
I haven't had a chance to look it over yet. It's in my garage. Someone mounted a tube on the side of the high voltage cage. I want to find out what that is all about. |
Good find and interesting.

There were some simpler variants of this concept (involving a regular sand-type power resistor) that were available in the 50's/60's era. |
I've got one of those sets. Drove out to Pittsburg to get it about 12hr round trip. Price was right and it's my first one with a continious tuner.
Good Luck Terry |
I have one also, it was given to me free but it's pretty rough.
It does work after a recap though. I believe this model is called "The Spectator" here's an ad for it. http://www.vintagetvsets.com/images/crosleyad.jpg |
Great looking ad.
Thank you for posting it. |
A Crosley 9-407 was my first antique TV, and I later sold it. That was well before I knew anything much about repairing or restoring old sets. I'd like to find one out here on the west coast now.
