CTC4 needed

Does anyone out there have a complete CTC4 set they would be willing to sell?

zenithfan1 08-12-2009 05:46 PM

Maybe.

I know of one (Seville 21) that might be available that has been in storage for about 35 years.

You have really nice televison sets. Let me know I you would like ctc16.
Does your ct 100 work? Is the pix tube good? I like that set. I restored only
one of them for Gary Miller in the late 1980s. Do you know him? I try and
gte some photos for you, if you are interested in my study of the art of
maintaining these rellics. Crude as they are I enjoy watching them. They
are even more fun with AMPEX antique video machines like the 7500s or
5800s.
I am working on a rack to providechannels two thru 13 back in their original
spectrum to demonstrate my sets. It is basically a "hotel"system with
NTSC modulators combined into one cable wire to the VHS input of each
set. It is not as easy as it sounds. Old sets do not like modulators
because early tuners "broadcast" on the channel you are trying to feed.
This can cause diathermy and herring bone patterns. Anyway. It is nice
to see that you enjoy the hobby.

I can strongly vouch for Len. Best alignment, and cleanest work you can get. Known him for at least 20 years, and he's worked on color TVs with me/for me, and for such discriminating collectors as Gary M. Don't be scared if he wants to mess with your RF-IF and chroma alignment... He knows his stuff!

Thanks for the compliments Len, I just wanted to let you know that the CT 100 I'm next to is Steve McVoy's at the ETF, it says that under the picture. I just thought it was a good intro picture. I WISH I had a CT 100:D I'm building a similar rack to simulate NTSC as well, it's going good so far. Good luck on yours. Also, I don't know Gary but I am interested in a 16.

Don't sell your "4" Mark! You will be sorry if you do. I sold my first ctc4 30 years ago and I have been kicking myself ever since. It was the dumbest thing I ever did.

I have a spare CTC4 and I won't sell it even though I am not fond of it. Whan I restore the CTC4 disaster set that was in the leaky shed, I will then have 2 and I won't let either one go.

And even if you do decide to sell your ctc4 Mark, you better sell it to me or I will have to make you walk to the next ETF convention, and sleep in the park instead of a nice warm bed in our motel room :-)

Just my opinion, but if that truely is the dumbest thing you've ever done, you've had a good life! :D I've done much stupider things in my life, and I doubt I'm remotely close to your age. Mark would know.
