At least he saved the guts

"I only need the housing and knobs for my project, the guts mean nothing to me."

I'm taking bets -- fishtank or "Deco" litterbox cabinet?

Either way what a waste
That's not too far from me - about 90 min round trip. Maybe I should bid on it and chew him out when I pick it up ?

newhallone 09-17-2009 07:24 PM

I saw that and knew exactly what you were talking about by your post title. He's still a dumb jerk even if he saved the guts.

I'd hold off on the chewing out for now. Don't want him to cancel the auction and haul it out to the curb, just to teach those annoying collectors a lesson :)

LOL - Yeah, I was kidding about that.

Does that chassis use a 12LP4 ?

Hmm. According to my Wallace Telaide, Zenith used a 12UP4.

Eric H 09-17-2009 09:17 PM

It's a metal 12UP4, lots of people need that tube as well as parts from that chassis so it's not a total waste.

My guess is color conversion, good luck getting a 16:9 set to fit in a Porthole.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to grab it if no one else bids just to save it.

newhallone 09-18-2009 08:12 PM

I would like to bid. But I'm not going to be down that way for awhile.

I emailed the seller about the possibility of picking it up October 4th. Your fish tank guess is correct.

"Yes I am available on the 4th. A complete rebuild into a custom aqurium."

Shame.

The current high bid is $0.01 There have been two bids. How is this possible?

I don't have a porthole yet. I may be getting one on saturday. I have no idea if I would need it for spare parts or not. Putting the plow before the horse. :) It's a long drive to Illinois...and I am sure someone else needs the parts as well. So all is good. It has bids so it's being saved. Which is great.

The same bidder raised their high bid. I do that sometimes too.
