Best Looking 1930's RCA Console
Another of the pictures I came across. I found this console in a antique mall in Peoria IL. It was pretty sad looking with damaged veneer on the bottom front and a finish that was shot. The chassis was the clincher. All the coil covers were painted red on the top and I had never seen that before in an RCA. My radio tech said that they were premium coils and the radio was a high dollar unit in the day. The doors that covered the dial also preserved the finish in that area so I had a model to go from for the refinish. It came out really good and with some new AZTEC grill cloth it had the killer looks.
