The 32 sets must take a lot of power.

Fortunantely I don't see anything super desirable in that pile, except perhaps the Motorola VK-106, the GE 801 and possibly an Andrea?

I agree; modern sets inside. I can see most of the screen edges.

I sure hope that the Westinghouse in the upper center isn't a 22" color set :pity: !!!!!!!!!

I have seen a couple of similar displays. Lucky for us, most people don't seem very interested in a pile of TVs. They stare for about 5 seconds, then move on -- especially if the TVs are playing some pompous rant by the artiste about the meaning of the "installation."

I think this pic is in Milwaukee or Chicago. My cousin took the same picture with her in it and put it on facebook awhile ago. I told her it was disgusting, and copy cat art.

I was exposed to Paik years before I started collecting TVs and might have even tried some of that stuff if I had been a little more artistic. I actually think a lot of his stuff is kinda cool, although some of it is a little too weird even for me. And Paik was the original fishtanker, but he did it the right way (the exact reverse of what today's boneheads are doing!):

Reminds me of the endsing video featrured on Channel WTTW Image Union in Chicago, had a guy racing a rocket car, and crashing through a giant wall of operational TVs

That video was done by a group called The Ant Farm, it was 1971 so those sets were just common old TV's at the time.

What irritates me about Nam June Paik is his followers still want to copy him.

His work also includes some very desirable sets too, several Philco 48-1001's Hallicrafters, several Farnsworth 651P's etc... :sigh:
