We got it finished, it has a complete chasis rebuild it still had an audio problem but turned up to be a small broken wire on the amp. The CRT checked very strong on all guns. I am very pleased with the results of this set it was bit expensive to do but well worth it to me at least.

Looks very nice! I like that cabinet style and how you have it set in the room.

Looks great, can you give a run down of what repairs it needed? not what it cost just what was done.

Very Nice!! The room looks like a scene right out of Mad Men (that's a compliment), especialy wth the retro clock and other wall ornaments hanging above it. One of those is a barometer, perhaps?

I too would like to know what was involved in the resto effort.

That room is really wild. Is that a peacock with a lighted tail on top of the TV ? Very cool :yes:

I was wondering about that illuminated peacock as well. Your Maggie console TV is showing the NBC affiliate in Grand Rapids; is there a connection between that and the peacock atop the set? NBC still uses a small, almost transparent peacock logo during prime time (also during morning and early afternoon network shows, what few of the latter are left) and during NBC Nightly News, the latter showing MSNBC's web site URL below it: msnbc.com.

I also like the looks of the room your console is in. I'm 53 years old and haven't seen a "sunburst" clock like the one on the wall above the set in many years--since the '70s at least.

Glad to see you got that console working. It must have taken you quite a while to restore the entire set if you rebuilt the chassis from the ground up. I'm curious -- how long did it actually take to do it? :scratch2: At least you didn't have to replace the CRT. I don't know what type CRT that set uses, but I can't help wondering whether that tube or any other round CRT (such as 21FBP22 or 21CYP22) are still available.

I'd hang on to that console if I were you. Like Zeniths (and every other make of TV I can think of), they don't make them like that anymore. In this day and age of "roll your own" entertainment systems, your 3-way Maggie, which is the "original" home theater (Magnavox also had a fabulous 25" rectangular tube stereo-theatre 3-way console, several models of which had what Magnavox called "total remote control" that could operate the television, the AM/FM stereo radio and amplifier, and even the reject function of the record changer, in the late '60s) stands out. There probably aren't that many of the roundie versions of these sets in existence, so as I said, I'd hang on to the set you have. I'm sure that when these sets are gone, they will be gone for good.

It needed a diode that was shorted , a thermistor and it had a bad cap in the amp and 2 bad transistors in the radio board. So we gave it a restuff and all new resistor/cap replacements and filter cap it has a extra rebuilt chasis available if it was needed.It was aligned and adjusted as needed.

Looks like you will have many hours of viewing pleasure on your Maggie! I wish my '65 Maggie was a roundie. It's just a dumb 'ol rectangular:D

To answer some questions, there was more done to it but it was too technical for me to repeat as I am a tv tech newbie it took about a month and there were unforseen delays. As for the lighted peacock it was something I had picked up especially for this tv to add a retro touch, the clock I already had and it works it has 2 candle sconces that you see on the sides of it.The room is not done yet. I have a plan to put a curtain across the openeing like a theater so it can conceal that part of the room from my modern TV and stereo/furniture in the room leading to that one. I want it to have a theater like feel to it and the 1960's era theme open a curtain and enter a lost era of real america. I have some other items not in the room yet, so I will show it once I get it done.I am looking for one of those old christmas trees to put in the corner by the fireplace yet.

The set came out great! And that wall clock... it rocks! :D
