G'day all.

A couple of days ago I went to a 2nd hand book store somewhere in the inner suburbs of Sydney looking for old television related books and I came across a fantastic British television book from 1957 entitled "The Boy's Book Of Radio Television & Radar" and towards the end of the book I found a page that illustrated 3 rare photos of BBC experimental colour setup, 2 photo shots of the Marconi colour camera and one shot of the control room with all the CCU gear, monitors, vision mixing console etc... Anyways I've uploaded a scan of these photoshoots for you all to see. Due to limited max filesize and image size upload I had to shrink the picture and compress the image a bit so if anyone needs a full sized high resolution scan of this page email me at [email protected] .

The camera looks like a "Double-First Cousin" to a TK40/41...Neat pics, though. Its a SHAME that few photographic records were kept of the early day-to-day operations of such installations...

such a pity...

It really was such a pity that the BBC didn't want to go for 405 line NTSC colour (ITV pushed it hard!)
