Found an Admiral for sale
I found it at a thrift shop for $95.00 is it worth it?
i think its a 1948 console it has the tv behind the upper right door and the record player/ am radio behind the upper left door, it also has the operators manual inside, nobody knows if it works or not. i did notice the part number started with 24X the last two numbers were 15 or16 or 17 i think. let me know if i should go back and get it. the cabinet had some scraches and the fabric on one of the lower panels had a rip in it. Thanks Troy |

Yes it does..
worth anything? |
I'd go for it, those old Admirals seem to be pretty tough...95 bux, big deal...Shit, that's barely 2 tanks of gas anymore, & that'll soon be long gone & forgotten about...But the Admiral will give you joy & pleasure for a long time to come...

I have one of those Admiral consoles. Got it years ago. Yes $95 is a good price for it. Get it and it will provide you with a fun project and lots of enjoyment.

15 years ago, maybe, there was one of these in a local antique store. Every time I went in there the price was different-it would be $120, then a month later $85, next time it would be up to $125. In my usual manner, I hemmed and hawed. The store finally closed and who knows where the Admiral ended up. I have often regretted not buying it. I agree with others, the company made a great TV at that time. Not so complicated as an RCA or Zenith, but they didn't cut corners like Muntz or others did.

Hmm, around here you can't seem to give combos away, regardless of manufacturer. There's a Motorola on the local craigslist for $1. It has been listed before. A while back there was this Admiral in black Chinese cabinet. I didn't pay close attention, but I suspect it went unsold.
