Let's see....load up 400lbs of TV in Coburn, travel 3 miles, and load up 400lbs of Mallo Cups at Boyer's.......:scratch2:
|
This had to have been the top-of-the-line GE? I could have a lot of fun with it...but, oh, my back!

TV History sez '47:
http://www.tvhistory.tv/1947-GE-901-PROJ.JPG Nice set! :thmbsp: jr Edit, I guess 2 answers are better than none! |
That's a very significant set, and needs to be saved! That's a 901 or 901_A, if I'm not mistaken. I've only seen one other, and it's one of those "prewar-postwar" production sets. Has old-FM, and was probably going to be the '43 or '44 model, had the war not happened.
Definitely one of the heaviest sets, and has a glass screen. We had a joke about the model number; 901-A. It seems that 901-A is the police code for attempted suicide, and how appropriate since moving one of those sets is just that! Charles |
