vintage stuff at EPCOT in early 2005
 

I was going through some of my old photo files and came across these I took at EPCOT in 2005. They were part of a display touting the new home theater possibilities, but were really impressive themselves. No idea if they are still there, and I wonder where they came from.

Nice collection of vintage equipment... thanks for posting! I could not help but notice that they appear to have taken some artistic "liberties" with the Safari chassis. What did they do, stick an old 2AP1 in the hole where the image from the 2EP4 normally appears? :scratch2:
The faceplate of the stock 2EP4 is flush with the top of the chassis, normally only the mirror assembly would be in the area above the top of the chassis, NOT the end of a CRT!

There was a motorla 7" set on ebay a few months ago that claimed to be from this exhibit. The one seen in your pictures sure looked a heck of a lot like it. Of course, looking at the auction pictures one quickly saw that while the Imagineers put a heavy coat of poly on the wood finish, they neglected to put in a chassis-I think it was just a crt with the knobs glued to the cabinet.

Wow, an RCA CED videodisc player (on the top shelf). Didn't think there were enough of those sold to justify it being a common home entertainment device.

I thought the same about these players, but according to this article they at least enjoyed a large number of sales when they were first introduced:
