That all depends on how you look at it. There are fewer parts than most sets so less to check and replace, but they are more tempermental.

yea its the tempermental thing I remember reading about, not as tolerant of out of spec parts IIRC.

That model Muntz is not a bad set. It has a power transformer, 5U4, 3 video IFs and a Standard tuner. It is reliable and similar to Admirals and Bendix of the era.

I would think the Muntz would work pretty good once you replace the weak tubes, caps and out of spec resitors. It would likely be many many years before any of those new parts started to get out of spec.

What might happen if you add some parts? I've never worked on a Muntz, but have heard stories all my life about them.
