Gotta love these people. "We think around 1943." We should start a prize category for these listings.

This one obviously! It works! How many CT-100s work? Much more bang for the buck! :nutz:

Well, I guess auctions sites provide good entertainment at least.

Honestly, have they been out in the Arizona Sun too long?
It seems like more eBay TV auctions are stupid like this than not anymore.

Do these people see a 621 or a CT-100 sell for $2000+ and think that therefore ANY old TV will bring the same, do they not do ANY research?

"We think it should sell for a lot" I'm sure they do.

If I was feeling generous I might offer them $50 for their late 50's set if they'd deliver it.

Oh, Prunella...(Does his best B. Bunny impression here...)

It just makes you wonder about people and how much of a grip they have on reality. They're like a little wood chip floating in the ocean of time, with no idea where they come from or where they've been. Churchill? Oh yeah, wasn't he that president a long time ago? Back when the world was in black and white? Egads.

Getting more and more people who have not seen a Black and White TV in a long time. Also, with so many flat-panel TVs now, many long for the nostalgic look of old tube televisions. My take is that these TV's are appreciating in price - but not to this level, yet.

Uhmmm...Yeah, I KINDA, SORTA, yannow SORTA remember when the whole wide world was in Blackenwhite...1965 or so, I think...That Ol' Guy Church Hill, I THINK he kicked th' Bucket then...Didn't he have something to do with a War they had a long time ago, w/some dude named Hister or Ditler or sumpin' ?!? Funny how they buried an American President in London 'n' all...I mean, London IS in England, ain't it ? I dunno, that was SO long ago, hard to remember back then..Screw it, I wanna watch "NCIC" or "Cougarvilletown...."

"My dad fixes appliances"

1. They breed (shudder)

2. I'll bet he does... New word: "appliancide"

Does this make my Motorola TS-4 worth $10,000?
Gotta love it!

Dan Starnes 04-14-2010 03:31 PM

I saw that listing.. just shook my head.

You should get it now before it gets bid up too high..... And besides you know its got a good crt, and will likely stay that way. And then look for another just like it, and hide it under a different tree, and then look for another and hide it in the grass near the squarish rock, then get another one and hide it near the poison ivy, then get another and put it next to the azeliah, and then go get another and put it in the flowerbed by the front door, and then get another and.................................

Glenz75 04-14-2010 05:29 PM

Hmmm...gotta wonder what planet that seller is on??

wa2ise 04-14-2010 06:22 PM

http://www.videokarma.org/attachment...4&d=1271215315 Isn't it a violation of eBay rules to show a TV set with a video image on its CRT? After all, the statement "It works" should be sufficient. :D
