Try to resist these bargains.

Seems like 75% of old TV's listed on eBay are owned by the clueless.

I had that RCA, it was in my basement. I wouldn't have thrown it away if I'd known it was worth that kind of money after the flood. :D

Yuck! I also love it when a seller is asking $100s for an item and only takes one photo

Oh, Prunella....

Maybe they price this stuff that high because there **might** be someone out there that has too much money to spend.

Of the two, I'd take the Hallicrafters... I think thats what it is... They're cute.

I wonder how rusty the tube pins are.

Dan Starnes 05-17-2010 03:07 PM

I hardly check the bay anymore because of auctions like that.

John Marinello 05-17-2010 03:46 PM

Thank goodness the tubes are not damaged...

Seems to be a rash of wildly priced TVs lately. Spring cleaning going on everywhere, perhaps.

Someone gave me one of these a while ago. He had too much neglected stuff in his garage. Now I have too much neglected stuff in my garage.

SUch a deal! :D

Maybe they hope Bill Gates is looking for the TV set his parents had when he was a kid, and what the auctioneer has would be it... :scratch2:

I saw this tv at the Kutztown radio meet. Also has a dead crt. The guy was trying to zap the poor thing with a crt tester. The chassis was super rusty.

You mean the tubes are still full of vacuum?

Don't you feel like just emailing this guy and telling him you were thinking of bidding but since he powered it up, that it was a deal breaker because he probably ruined whatever good components were left. Make him feel like he screwed up his cash cow!

Patnukem 05-21-2010 12:39 AM

i get that urge all the time but I try hard to resist. :x

"no picture comes in but all the tubes light up and i can hear crackling on the speaker."

Patnukem 05-21-2010 12:49 AM
