Excellent reading, well researched. I was especially moved learning that Scott
had lost his brother with whom he once worked. Good luck Scott with your new
endeavors, wish I had begun into old TVs earlier, so I might have done
business with you.

Yeah, thanks for the post. Its sad to see Scotty shutdown, but I am excited to see the outcome of the ETF getting ready to take over the field!

I really wish I could have thrown him some business, but I couldn't justify spending around $300 each to rebuild B&W tubes on sets I'll watch 5-10 times a year. :(

Scotty rebuilt a 21FJP for me and I was thrilled to be able to have such done. He was professional and great in every way. I felt privelaged to be able to do business with him. I think he found my recreation of an original RCA shipping box amusing. At the time I thought I was dealing with the very last business of such that would close soon. I guess I was right.
Did somebody take over his operation? I think he had a few roundie color guns left and I thought I read somewhere here that he offered his stuff to somebody here?

Hawkeye's equipment will be removed to The Early Television Foundation in Ohio. The hope is to get the equipment properly set up there, train volunteers in the art and eventually offer rebuilding services to collectors out of the museum.

It truly saddens me to see him closing his doors for the last time. :sigh::tears:
