I was looking thru some old photo's for another purpose and found these. I guess I was a weird teenager taking pictures of my televisons. I have both a Zenith which I bought new and then it shows the GE porta color that I replaced the Zenith with. At the time it seemed like a good idea now I probably would have wen the other way

The Cubs game was from WGN tv in Chicago, which we had to have a large yagi antenna to receive.

Is that Princess Leia on the Portacolor?

Sandy G 07-30-2010 04:36 PM

Porta-Potties ARE undeniably cute, though...

Both of those roundies look identical to sets in my collection! A 25MC30 in its cheapest version with a painted, mottled brown cabinet with spindly metal legs, and a CTC-11 in woodgrain metal with spindly wooden legs.

How come TV repairmen always look like bums that crawled out from under a dumpster ?
Today the popular look for so called "technicians" is the shaved head look, talk like you know what you are doing when you don't, then blame someone else or the customer ?

I was in a Catholic high school back then, and the assistant principal was freaking out over our evil long hair and evil blue jeans...

The boarding school I went to, yr hair couldn't touch yr ears-they wanted "Whitewalls"-or yr collar. That was in 1971-72, by fall '72, they kinda relented on the "No hair over the Ears" thing. But it had been a military school up til May 1970, that was coming a LOOOONG way for them...

I like to see old photos. C,mon guys.... ad some more!
Is that roundie in the dark a '65 Sylvania? It is not an RCA because of the two knobs between the tuner knobs.
