http://desmoines.craigslist.org/atq/2126058436.html Another CTC-11, perhaps? Been popping up like shrooms after a storm lately. http://images.craigslist.org/3nf3k33...33a19c1189.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/3o23p73...62c8701790.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/3nd3k93...2245b51d8e.jpg |
Yah, looks very much like my CTC-11 -- which I'm watching about 4 feet away from the desk where I'm typing this.

Looks like a nice non-cateract replacement crt. That alone makes this an attractive deal, although the set is nice too!

Well, like most of you I'd take some tools with me to take a look before the purchase. For that price, I'd take my CRT checker too! I wouldn't buy a car without "lifting the hood either".:D

if i really wanted a roundie,i would take it as found.i dont mind checking the crt, etc.i had a buyer once who wanted to take the set to a shop and have them give an estimate before he purchased.whatever the estimate,he wanted to take off the price.this didnt happen.set was working with a nice crt and a sharp cabinet.this guys talking about a complete restore, cabinet stripped,yada,yada.275 is a decent price on this set.a 10 or 11 all there is worth it.i have the same set with the speaker on the other side, working with a strong crt.needs recapped though, but i would be happy to get 275.00 for mine.as far as "lifting the hood",i lift everything without being disrespectful.its a crap shoot when you purchase anything used.

Part of the "worth it" equation depends on where you live and how plentiful vintage TVs are.
If you have ever paid shipping for something that size or larger, you might gladly pay a little extra (whatever that means to you) for one that you find within driving distance. Phil Nelson |
Location does make a difference. I paid $275 (I think) for my CTC-7, but it was shipped from the West Coast. Seems to be a total lack of 7's around here, I haven't seen too many of them around.

Im looking for a user manual for CTC 11... I have schematic... What Year did this come Out ? I was told 1962... The next Year or Two they added the degaussing coil ... Does anyone know ?
|
of course location is important.as i said,275.00 is a bargain if i could drive to it,check the crt, etc.i generally allow 100.00 for travel.so i guess 375.00 is my limit on this.if shipping is more than this,i have to pass.nice st,hope it gets saved

This is a CTC-11C manufactured in ’62. The CRT has been replaced. The original 21FJP22 was the same color as the escution. Doogie

A great place to see what cabinets they had and their names is Ed Reitan's site, it covers from the CT-100 to the CTC-10 : http://novia.net/~ereitan/
