RCA to Zenith Convergence Swap - Would this work?

I was just curious if the three dynamic convergence coils on the neck of a 21FJP22 from an RCA set could replace the same components in a Zenith set. My Zenith roundie has the plastic cased convergence coil assembly which is prone to cracking. The RCA sets with the same tube seem to have a more robust assembly without the plastic shell. Could the RCA unit be used in the Zenith since the CRT is the same? Has anyone tried this?

Don't know - do they at least measure the same resistance?

My bets are it wouldn't work, but what do you have to lose?

Never tried it. I wouldn't recommend it unless one of our engineer-AKers writes it up. If the impedance is wrong, it might overtax the flyback or other very unpleasant things.
