621, Nice low Opening Bid

Why not start something like this very low, to get a few more bidders into the game. But 99 cents?

Won't stay that way for long...

He was listing it with a $2k opening but got no bites, guess he changed his strategy.
It's up to $105 already.

That's how I like to list it, when I know the item will command nice $$$. More fun that way! Something about human nature, it does get people bidding faster. See it all the time at a live auction. They'll start the bidding at $100, no bidders until it drops to $2, final price ends up something like $500. But everybody had to sit on their hands to see how low it might go!

A 621 is one of those sets that I'll only end up getting by accident, I'm afraid.

How would he ship somethng like this?

Ideally the CRT, chassis, and cabinet should be shipped separate.

I usually list high-end sets at .99 with no reserve. It's a gamble, but I've come out ahead (based on comps) every time. I sold a prewar Meissner 5" table model that way for another collector, as well as my extra CT-100 a few years ago. Both went for more than expected, and sat nervously low 'til the last few seconds.
