The Silvertone must be a clone, they look so much alike. :D

I'm buying them. Getting them later today when traffic mellows out

The crt in the rca was gassy. I blew the filaments out testing it. its a ctc16x. The flyback has lost most of its was, running all they way through the chassis and leaking out the bottom of the set, however it works. I plugged it in and the hv came up.

The crt in the silvertone is basically dead. The HOT is white.

Both cabinets are in very poor shape. Deep scratches that would be very hard to fix.

I got an ok deal on both of them and they came home for parts. The 16 fly will be my backup and I need the lens off the fjp. Not sure about the silvertone.
These were saves form a E Waste center so they were not treated very nicely.

Parts are always welcome, score!

Score!

E-Waste Centre: 0
TV Collectors : 2

We, as collectors all got to do our part to stay on top of those E-Waste centres and keep saving those TVs and TV parts from being destroyed and recycled and we will all reap the rewards of our efforts of saving those vintage and collectable TVs.
I'm proudly doing my part as well advertising here on Kijiji(same as Craigslist in the US) here in North Bay, Ontario, Canada as well:-)
Congratulations on this save in California where California has some of the worst E-Waste laws in the US according to some of my observations on E-Waste laws in the US.

The guy had a ton of fluorescent tubes and I asked if they were recycling them. He said they have to ship them out of the state now because they have mercury. - knows its a hazmat cleanup if you break a CFL in the workplace but that is going way to far. How many tons of CO2 does it generate to transport all the used bulbs out of state for recycling disposal. Most of the enviro crap is rebel without a clue.

Actually "environmentalism" has it roots in communisim. Carl Marks preposed attacking capitalist bussinesses under the guise of protecting the enviroment from polution. So when they stop selling light bulbs, and force us to hand over our toxic energy hoging tube TVs for recyclleing (I'll hand over mine over my dead body!:grumpy::para::lazer::sadwave:) you can thank Marx(preferably by going back in time and shooting him:uzi::pistols:).

Yet another reason I hate commys!

I'm guessing a little Russian vodka is OK then...?
