Zenith 95-705 transformer voltages
Hi all,
I have a Zenith 7-S-558 radio with a bad power transformer and wondering if any body has the high voltage specs for the Zenith transformer 95-705n. I heard the stancor p-6011 could be used but want to be sure (350-0-350 rating). The dastardly 6X5 will be converted to a solid state. Brandt |
The service information on that model, is scattered all over the Zenith section of Riders volume 12. The original transformer rating on the high voltage side is 280-0-280. The transformer you are refering to would shoot the B+ to around 390 volts, using solid state rectification. See if you can locate one a little closer in ratings.

That's the tidbit of info I needed. I thought the voltage might be too high. Will look for that voltage and appreciate the help

Found that the Hammond 270DX is a bit stronger than the 60 watt unit originally in the radio. 275-0-275 at a 104ma with a 6.3 at 3 amps, should do the trick and the foot print is about the same except it's a floor mount instead of the encapsulated unit there now.
