Nice Ad for Radio!

Look at what I found on the back cover of the May 1937 issue of "The Etude" magazine... It was too big to scan properly!

Cool! I have the little brother 37-10 model with the same nifty tuning mechanism. I think it works a lot better than the wacky cone-centric preset system they tried in 1938.
First antique radio I ever got :) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3030/...1ba19d64f5.jpg |
Nice radio B,
Philco made this one first? Grunow had one too. I have a Motorola 12Y, also from 1937. The teledial power tuning still works and so does the radio, without a recent recap. Dave G |
I think the Philco uses a different mechanism than the Grunow.
Here's an excellent article on how it works: http://www.philcorepairbench.com/autodial/index.htm http://www.philcorepairbench.com/images/seymourdial.jpg |
